Deepika Padukone Playing the role of an Acid Attack Survivor Laxmi Agarwal in CHHAPAAK

Deepika Padukone achieved a new fleet in the upcoming movie Chhapaak by turning herself as a Producer too. Deepika is playing the role of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal in the movie.

Talking about the same to Harper’s Bazaar India she further states that” it is the toughest movie I have ever done”. Its not because of role but its about prosthetics. Since she is a vey patient person and she gone so deep for every single day of shoot. She further says that she became a producer because she want to reach more people and to create impact and cinema is the powerful tool.

At the trailer launch of the movie CHHAPAAK on Tuesday 10th December, actress Deepika Padukone burst into tears. Deepika was present with his co actor Vikrant Massey and produer Meghna Gulzar after coming on stage she said “ maine sirf iss moment ke baare m socha tha ki aap log trailer dekhenge aur fir hume stage pe aana hai. uiske baad stage per humko kuch bolna hai is baare me toh maine shocha he nahi tha,” and then she broke down into tears.

The direct of the movie Meghna says that she chooses a story that connects with her and the character gender has no role in it. “I have a request that do not categorise CHAAPAAK as women centric film. My stories do have strong female characters unlike our conventional films”.

Meghna said as a filmmaker, her endeavour is to be honest to her craft and do her job with sincerity.”
“Nobody sets out to makes failure or flop film. We all want or films to do well. I just want to work with honesty,” Meghna added. After featuring Vikrant Massey, ‘CHHAPAAK’ is schedule for January 10 release.
