Early to bed and early to rise, makes a woman (let’s break some conventions here) healthy, wealthy, and wise. This was the rhyme that we were taught as kids. But, as we grew up and our routines became more erratic, the significance of rising early was lost on us. From late-night movies to piled-up work, everything prevented us from hitting the bed early. This in turn created an irregular sleep pattern and we soon forgot what the morning sun looked like. Feels like your own story, doesn’t it? Who can forget those rebukes by our parents when we got up late? You must have dismissed them back then, thinking that rising early has nothing to do with productivity. But, guess who was right? Certainly not you.
Still skeptical about rising early? Consider this; research has shown that people who wake up early are 93% more productive than those who don’t. Well, you don’t need science to back that statement. If you get up early, you get more time for your daily activities. It’s that simple. So, now that you have made up your mind about becoming an early bird, we have prepared a morning routine for you to follow.
1. Set the Alarm and Don’t Snooze It
No cheating here. You need to set the alarm for the same time every day and wake up without fail. This will regulate your circadian rhythm and cure you of sleep deprivation (No more gulping down black coffee). Rising at the same time has also been linked to higher immunity.
2. Meditate and Relax
Regular meditation will stimulate the pituitary gland in your body to secrete endorphin hormones that will make you feel positive and happy. Starting your day on a positive note will make the rest of your day relaxed and peaceful.
3. Get Some Exercise
The benefits of working out daily are innumerable. You will have a better chance of fighting all challenges that come your way if you stay strong both physically and mentally. You can’t complain that you don’t have time for it. If Amazon founder Jeff Bezos can find time for a daily workout, you certainly can!
4. Have a Hearty Breakfast
The key to a healthy body and mind is a balanced and nutrient-rich breakfast. It will power you throughout the day and allow you to work without getting fatigued. Oatmeal, cornflakes, fruits, or sandwiches, make your pick and get going!
5. Scribble Down a To-Do List
Before starting work, sit down for a minute and note down the tasks that you have to do. Planning will help you stay clear-headed and positively approach your work. Outline the goals that you want to achieve for the day.
Maintaining a rigorous morning routine has been one of the best lifestyle tips suggested by successful people. You are just an alarm away from reaching the zenith of success.
