Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas eventually proclaimed as the Man and the wife as the couple swapped the vows on December 1 according to Christian rituals which was solemnized by Nick’s father, Paul Kevin Jonas followed by Hindu traditional ceremony on December 2 at the Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur.
The couple arranged Mehandi and Sangeet ceremony where the bride and the groom shaked their legs as well as their friends and relatives gave marvelous performances at the Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur. Nearest and dearest friends and relatives were invited for the ceremony.
It was spellbound ecstasy when Nick and Priyanka official had their first dance on Roberta Flack’s The First Time I Saw Your Face, with fireworks on the wedding day.Even lovebirds had their first kiss. According to some western rituals, after the bride and groom get married they blow their first kiss followed by the dance on a song that express their fantasy. Wedding ceremony begins at 4.30P.M. followed by cake cutting and the couple left the venue in royal car post their dance performance.
Priyanka Chopra adorned her breathtaking look in a gown, with a trailing veil which was a whopping 75 feet long designed by an American designer Ralph Lauren on her Christian rituals wedding ceremony. The gown was attributed with a pearl pailettes, crystal seed beads, and Swarovski crystals which took a total of 1,826 hours to complete. Underneath the long-sleeve gown was a strapless column dress made up of over two million mothers of pearl sequins with eight special words embroidered on it. The embroidery of the gown was completely handmade. Nick Jonas complimented his wife in a double-breasted Ralph Lauren Purple Label tuxedo with the word ‘My Jaan’ embroidered on the lapel.
On the precious day of Hindu rituals ceremony Nick made a grand entry on a ghodi at the venue in a traditional yet royal manner.Priyanka enhanced her look in the traditional red color lehenga designed by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
The dress grabbed 110 embroiderers from Kolkata and 3,720 hours to create the hand-cut organza flowers, French knots in silk floss and layers of thread work.Priyanka appealed the designer to mention the names of her fiance and her parents, Ashok and Madhu. Names were beautifully embroided on the waistband of her skirt in Hindi. She accomplished her ethnic look with traditional jewellery including a maangtika, nath, chooda and a heavy neckpiece.
The couple took a ride on an elephant around the premises of the palace and arrived at the main wedding area before the garland exchange ceremony. The wedding mandap arranged for the ceremony was 40 feet high and was set in Baradari Lawns with the backdrop of the royal Mehrangarh Fort. The wedding venue was decorated with red flowers which were picked from various parts of Jodhpur.
Variations of food cuisines including Punjabi, Rajasthani, Hyderabadi, Italian, Mexican, Continental and Chinese cookery were served to the guests. Food served in silver-plated dinnerware and Rajasthani cutlery designed from Jodhpur. Guests were welcomed with special goodies wrapped in white with play cards of Chopra and Jonas. The couple also arranged wedding cake which was 18 feet tall and 6 layers of distinct desserts were decorated on cake. The cake was designed by Nick Jonas personal chef flew from Dubai and Kuwait. Guests also received an assortment of freebies upon arrival to their rooms at the wedding venue.
Around 200-225 guests attended the ceremony. Nick’s brothers, Joe and Kevin, as well as Joe’s fiancé played a precious role in the ceremony. Jonas and Chopra also invited few eminent personalities for their celebrations
The wedding and prewedding event was planned by Sandeep Khosla and Aditya Motwane, founder-owners Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla and Weddings.Bazaar bride’s famous Potographer Jose Villa, as well as famous videographer Caleb Jordan Lee of East West Productions were engaged to capture their events. In addition, the couple hired Stories by Joseph Radhik to capture moments of their ceremonies and celebrations. For floral, Chopra turned to Bazaar famous florist, Jenya Flowers, who designed a clutch of tuberose, one of the bride’s favorite flower for her walk down the aisle.
The couple booked the entire Umaid Bhawan Palace,Jodhpur for their wedding weekend which cost an estimated $461000. The Palace erected a helipad just for the occasion to shuffle guests to and from the venue via helicopter.
